STAR is an after-school program operated by the City of Paramount at all PUSD elementary and middle school sites.
Registration applications are available for the 2020-2021 school year. Due to social distancing protocols, we are taking registration via email. Please fill out the application below and send back to the email address associated with the school site. Note: this year only, we will be waiving the $10 registration fee.

STAR After-School Program Volunteers
The City of Paramount is offering youth in grades 9-12 an opportunity to participate in the STAR After School Program as volunteers. Each student will be assigned a schedule for one semester (August - December or January - June) where they will be paired up with recreation staff and instructed on the various activities and aspects of the STAR Program.
You must be a Paramount resident or currently attend a PUSD school. Applicants must be willing to commit for at least a continuous semester of STAR. The hours will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Applications are accepted for 30 days following the start of school for the first semester (Aug. - Dec.) and 30 days following winter break for the second semester (Jan. – June). Applications must be submitted to the Recreation Office at 15300 Downey Avenue, Paramount, CA 90723. For more information, you can contact the Recreation Department at (562) 220-2121.
