QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: High school graduation or equivalent required. Additional clerical training and previous office and computer application experience desirable. English/Spanish speaker also highly desired.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of: office methods, procedures and office equipment operation including computer use and Microsoft Office software. Skill in: operation of office equipment, correct English usage, including spelling, grammar and punctuation; policies and procedures related to department assigned; basic record keeping principles and procedures. Ability to: perform moderately complex office work; organize, prioritize and coordinate work activities; organize, establish, maintain and research office files; compose correspondence from brief instructions; apply judgment effectively within established guidelines; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

License/Certification Required: Valid Class C California Driver License and acceptable driving record.

GENERAL DUTIES: Duties may include, but are not limited to the following: Receives visitors and phone calls; answers questions; explains complex City or department processes, procedures, and/or activities; distributes and explains forms; prepares a variety of documents in draft and final form, such as correspondence, reports, logs, charts and tables; gathers and assembles information; proofreads documents for correct grammar, punctuation and spelling; prepares, validates, processes, and/or checks a variety of documents and records; compiles reports by extracting and/or tabulating information from a variety of sources; schedules appointments, events, facilities or activities; assists in set-up, preparation and tear-down of events and activities, including the purchasing of materials; provides clerical support to various City committees or support groups; prepares mailings, creates and maintains computer and/or hard copy files; and performs related duties as assigned.

SENIOR RECREATION LEADER - General (At-Will/Hourly/Part-Time)

QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Any combination of education and/or experience that has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for satisfactory job performance. Example combinations include: Equivalent to graduation from high school, completion of two (2) years college coursework in Recreation or a related field, or two (2) years of relevant experience.

Knowledge and Ability: Knowledge of: municipal recreation programs including but not limited to developing, implementing and assessing recreation programs and facility maintenance. Implementing, marketing, and coordinating various recreation programs such as youth, adult and senior programs and special events; scheduling, training and supervising part-time employees and volunteers. Create rosters from registrations, organize and conduct meetings, and creates schedules. Tracks inventory of equipment, maintain a clean and organized work environment, conduct/attend regular staff meetings/service training; conduct program registration and be responsible for cash handling; and adhere to and enforce City and department policies and procedures; and performs other duties as assigned.

Completion of two years or an equivalent of 45 semester units of college course work in recreation or related field, and two years experience in recreation, or related field preferred. Experience may be substituted for education.

Knowledge and Ability: Must be courteous and able to deal with the public in an enthusiastic and polite manner. Working knowledge of municipal recreation programs including but not limited to developing, implementing and assessing recreation programs and facility maintenance. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The successful candidate will have knowledge of correct usage of the English language, both verbal and written; the ability to acquire a working knowledge of various criminal codes, vehicle codes, and City ordinances; maintain a good working relationship with the public and fellow employees; obtain accurate information through interview and observation; analyze situations quickly and objectively; cope with tense situations; express ideas clearly and concisely; print legibly; keep records and prepare reports; develop skills in the operation of radio receiving and transmitting; take crime reports from the public in various locations throughout the City; operate City vehicles; learn and apply advanced first aid, CPR and lifesaving procedures. QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: High school graduation or equivalent desirable. Requires recent paid maintenance experience.

Knowledge and Ability: Knowledge of the routine tasks relating to maintenance work. Ability to perform various types of heavy manual labor, repetitively lift up to 80 pounds, operate heavy equipment, work outdoors, safely operate power equipment used in grounds, building, road, and water maintenance; perform work requiring physical strength and dexterity; follow oral and written directions and work with fellow employees and the public.

GENERAL DUTIES: Under supervision, performs variety of maintenance duties for the City. May include mowing and edging of landscape; cleans drinking fountains, restroom facilities, and roadways; collects trash.
