SENIOR MAINTENANCE WORKER - ROADS

QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: High school graduation or equivalent desirable. Requires recent full-time experience in road maintenance. Previous supervisory experience desirable.

Knowledge and Ability: Requires working knowledge of tools, materials, methods and safe practices used in road/concrete maintenance and construction. Ability to operate a variety of hand tools and pneumatic tools and safely operate equipment and vehicles such as skip loader, patch truck, dump truck, vibra-tamp roller; repetitively lift 50 pounds; communicate clearly and concisely; work outdoors; work under pressure in emergency conditions; follow written and oral directions; ability to maintain a good working relationship with fellow employees.

License Required: Valid Class C California Driver License and acceptable driving record.

GENERAL DUTIES: Under general supervision, supervises and trains maintenance personnel, including evaluating employees, and performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled work. Trains personnel in the safe operation of tools and equipment, schedules field work and equipment usage. This position involves a great deal of maintenance work alongside employees, performing heavy manual duties. Supervises and assists in the installation, maintenance, paving and patching of asphalt and concrete streets, roadways, parking areas, and other City facilities. Supervises and assists in cutting and preparing streets for paving and patching, spreading pre-mix and oil, raking asphalt and making other necessary repairs to streets. Also supervises and assists in building forms for sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and other foundations; pouring and finishing cement work; operating painting equipment for painting street lines and street signing; cleaning walks, roadsides, gutters, curbs, culverts, and other facilities. Reports work progress; submits purchase requisitions for materials and equipment. Reads and works from blueprints. Responds to emergency calls. Other duties as assigned.

Management Analyst (Recreation Department)

QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Requires Bachelor's Degree. Master's Degree in Public Administration or related field and some local government experience desirable.

Knowledge and Ability: Requires knowledge of municipal government organization and functions; proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and knowledge of CorelDraw; ability to analyze and interpret budgetary and financial data. A positive and easygoing demeanor is also preferred. Outstanding writing and proof reading skills are necessary. Ability to prepare written reports, analyze and make recommendations on organizational operations, plan and perform research, have a proficiency with numbers, and work effectively with employees and the public. Must be resourceful and able to work efficiently under minimum direction while paying attention to detail.

License Required: Valid Class C California Driver License and acceptable driving record.

GENERAL DUTIES: Under the general direction of the Recreation Director, will prepare written and analytical reports including grant, financial, and agenda reports. Will assist with the preparation of the department's budget; review expenditure and revenue reports; prepare budgetary and statistical analysis. Will assist with analysis of various Recreation programs and functions. Other responsibilities will include intergovernmental relations and administration of grant programs as well as assisting with the implementation of Recreation capital improvements. Duties will also include preparing oral and graphics presentations; gathering, compiling, analyzing, and evaluating data; analyzing operations, designing marketing and various publications; and other duties as assigned.

Appointment is subject to satisfactory completion of a background investigation. GRAPHIC ARTIST/SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR

QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Graduation from high school or equivalent and coursework in Graphic Arts/Marketing/Journalism required. Experience in design layout of publications (magazines, newsletters, mailers, flyers) from idea stage through printing, creating and preparing files for production. Extensive experience operating multiple computer applications such as desktop publishing, word processing, and spreadsheet programs required. Excellent spelling and grammar skills required. Two years of Social Media Marketing experience on all major social media platforms - Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Google, YouTube, etc. - desirable.

Knowledge and Ability: Must be proficient in major desktop publishing programs, both for PC and Mac especially the Adobe Design suite. Must have experience maintaining a website. Website design skills a plus. Shooting/editing photos a plus. Able to follow oral and written directions

GENERAL DUTIES: Under general supervision of the Public Information Officer, the Graphic Artist/Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for the creation of original designs and concepts for City publications, mailers and posters. Will attend and photograph community events and edit photos for publication. With social media, will work with the PIO in managing day-to-day interactions with online communities, monitoring social media programs and continuously exploring new and existing social media platforms and tools to increase audience reach and engagement. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized and creative with the ability to adhere to strict deadlines. Attention to detail required. Other duties as assigned.
