Clean Streets for Everyone’s Health – Street Sweeping Citations to Resume
The cleanliness of our City streets is vital during our efforts to fight COVID-19.
Recognizing this difficult time for our residents, the City suspended warnings and citations for vehicles parked during street sweeping hours over a month ago. But it has become a challenge to keep our streets free of litter and debris, including used masks and gloves.
As a result, the City receives daily phone calls and emails from residents voicing concerns about the condition of our streets and requesting that we again conduct parking enforcement.
So the time has come to resume issuing parking citations in the name of public health and safety – on Monday, May 11 for our major boulevards and Monday, May 18 for all residential streets.
We are currently looking for parking lots for residents in our more congested areas of town to use temporarily. Please check this website for updates.
Also, if you have a lawn, know that you can park there on street sweeping day and not receive a ticket.
The City sends out a big thank you to our residents who managed to move their vehicles on their street sweeping days during this time and helped out by picking up litter and keeping our streets free of trash.
